Flew by!
I can't believe that it is over! And what a successful year it was! I have been truly blessed having 6A as my students this year. It has been a pleasure teaching all of you and if someone said I could keep you for the next 6 years I would say "sign me up!" Some Highlights: - Model Parliament - Flag Day Assembly Play - Using Microscopes and Extracting DNA - Peace Belts - Airfoils (teamwork!) Thank you for accompanying me on this journey of learning how to be a teacher. I learned a lot this year, from how to write a report card (no one told me they would be so much work!) to how to make an engaging math lesson, to how to solve girl/boy/everybody drama. 6A you taught me how to enforce the rules, but still be happy me. You taught me how to prepare a class for a PAT (start those practice questions in January!). You taught me that strong relationships are important, and that my students need to know that they are cared for, to trust me enough to make mistakes and learn. I hope you enjoyed this year as much as I did. I am teaching Grade 7 next year and count myself lucky! I know that many of you won't be in my class next year- but some of you will be next door, some of you will be in my complimentary courses and some of you are going to have to drop by and say hi more than you say hi to Mr. Evans (just sayin'). Families- I don't really check my email regularly over the summer. [email protected] is the best way to reach me in case you have an urgent question, concern, forms for a medical assessment, or something else I haven't thought of. While summer is often the best part of the year for many kids, for some kids summer is the worst part of the year, due to a variety of reasons. Students have been told if they need an adult that cares about them because of an emergency/a negative friend situation/something they need help with, they can reach me there. I have been a listening ear to A LOT of challenges and concerns over the year, and I view my role as an adult on your child's team very seriously.
